Course Overview
This course is suitable for businesses that are deemed to be ‘moderate to high risk’ under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations. Successful students can be named as ‘the first aider’ in your workplace in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
As with all our courses, we can tailor the content to your business environment, ensuring potential first aid requirements are covered. Delivery can be either accredited or non-accredited, and we’ll help you choose the most appropriate option for your needs.

Course Content
- Role of the first aider; infection control; incident recording
- Unconscious casualty care
- CPR & AED; choking; bleeding; shock; burns
- Injuries to bones, muscles and joints (incl. suspected spinal)
- Chest and eye injuries; sudden poisoning; anaphylaxis
- Recognising major illnesses (heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma, diabetes)
Certification
Certificate valid for 3 years.

- At your premises (up to 12 delegates): £1,200 per group (ex VAT)
- At our Cheltenham training centre (per person): £180 per person (ex VAT)

Yes but they would need to complete the full FAW course. We’ll check current certification and advise the most efficient upgrade.
Is this a 3-day course and can it be split over weeks?
Standard delivery is three days. We can split delivery across weeks to suit rotas while keeping learning outcomes intact.
